Service is Rewarding. Bring Food, Bring Money, or Bring a Friend.

Especially when it goes to a cause you believe in, such as daily sustenance. There are plenty of ways to give to the Utah Food Bank, and each will leave you with the satisfaction that comes with making a difference. Whether you donate time, food, or money, you meet the basic needs of others who truly need your help. Please bring a food donation with you, and you'll help a needy family have a warm meal. The Most Needed Food Items can be found here. You can also do Virtual Food Drive here by shopping for groceries online.

Join CSI at the Utah Food Bank for our annual community service project. CSI Members, Non-Members, Families and Associates are invited to help fight against hunger in Utah by volunteering and bringing in a food donation. Projects usually include sorting food, packaging, or special jobs. Stay after the service project and schmooze and mingle at our CSI holiday party. FREE pizza and refreshments will be served. In addition to our volunteering and food donations, the CSI Salt Lake City Chapter will also make a $200 monetary donation on behalf of our members.

General Volunteer Guidelines

CSI will be volunteering at the Utah Food Bank Warehouse at 3150 South 900 West in Salt Lake City from 10:00 am sharp to 12:00 pm. Please plan on arriving by 9:45 am so we have enough time to sign everyone in and go over instructions. Dress is casual or work clothes. Dress warm, but comfortable clothing such as hoodies; no open-toed shoes (otherwise they'll have to turn you away); and volunteers must be at least 12 years old (16 and under must be accompanied by an adult). More information about volunteering can be found at the Utah Food Bank website. Warehouse FAQ's can be found here.

If You Would Like to Donate Money

The Food Bank always needs cash donations in addition to food in order to buy special items. You can make a cash donation at the Utah Food Bank website, or bring it with you. Even if you can't make it on Wednesday, you can still make a difference by donating.

  • "Liking" a community from another Facebook user's news feed (once that user has "shared" that community) will add a "Like" to that community's total.
  • Commenting on a community from within another Facebook user's news feed (once that user has "shared" that community) will add a "Like" to that community's total.
  • "Sharing" a community page that another Facebook user has already shared will allow others to add "Likes" to that community's total by "Liking" and commenting.

Right now, 1 in 7 Utah children is at risk of hunger and Salt Lake City has a food hardship rate twice the national average with 18.2 percent of families not able to afford regular meals.

Utah Food Bank, which serves 150 food pantries statewide, would receive a significant portion of the funding if Salt Lake City earned the most votes.

Thank you for voting!
