CDT Certification Seminar

CONSTRUCTION DOCUMENT TECHNOLOGIST

EXAM PREPARATION SEMINAR

In this fast paced, intensive, one-day seminar, Marc Chavez, CSI, CCS, CCCA, AIA, SCIP assoc. will help prepare you for the Construction Document Technologist Exam (CDT) by reviewing the primary documents used for the examination and the fundamental knowledge they contain.

The architect/engineer (A/E), the contractor, owner, and the myriad of consultants, suppliers, and sub-contractors must work together within boundaries of the construction documents to create a successful project. The construction documents define the rights of, responsibilities of, and relationships among all the parties. The value and importance these relationships and their maintenance with the construction documents is emphasized.

The course will examine the use of construction documents from conception through design and construction to facility management. Some of the latest trends in construction including sustainability, Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) will be discussed.

The Seminar is designed to enhance and supplement self-study.  Candidates should arrive at the session with copies of the source documents listed in the free CDT Candidate Handbook available for download at www.csinet.org. The CDT Exam Study Workbook will be emailed to you after registration. The cost of the seminar does not include the cost of the Project Delivery Practice Guide or CDT exam registration.

There will be special exam dates scheduled on March 7th and 8th through Prometrics.

HOW YOU WILL BENEFIT

  • Review of all major portions of the exam and their relative importance to each other to guide your further study.
  • Review of the source documents used in the exam and the portions the candidate should concentrate their study upon.
  • An understanding of modern multiple choice test question construction.
  • Practice taking questions similar to those on the exam.

WHO WILL BENEFIT

The CDT certification program has been developed for those who prepare, interpret, enforce, or manage construction documents or portions of the work they describe. This seminar is a great place for anyone involved in the multi-billion dollar construction industry that needs to get a handle on the ebb and flow of the information that in many ways determines the success of the project (and incidentally our jobs.)

INTERN DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (IDP)

Architectural Interns whether or not employed in a qualified setting, may earn experience hours for the Construction Document Technologist (CDT) Certification Program. Upon passing the CDT Exam you will receive 40 elective hours. For more information go to www.ncarb.org.
